How Much for a Lexus V8 engine ???

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knew what I would be expecting to pay for a Lexus 4.0 V8 engine, whether it is a whole car or a half cut ??

hi mate

between 1000 and 1700 for the engine, box loom, etc.
depends on the year model
depends on the accessories that came with it

you can buy a complete car for about 2.5 grand

Yep about $800 - $1000 for a bare motor, no ECU etc etc.
Going all the way to about $2500 - $3000 for a half cut or sometimes a complete car if your lucky. Normally complete cars with 1UZ's go for about 5g up.

When I looked there was one in Melb, front chop Soarer fully dressed for $2,200.00.

got the first one for 1000 complete halfcut and the second one for 1200 most acc.

there are plenty of them around...probably worth the extra buying a cut....so many extra parts that can blow out costs...sump position and ecu needs to be thought about b4 purchase...crowns had seperate ecu to tranny, others have combined and you then need to use both or go aftermarket.
Latest version of 1uz has vvti...think it is a 3uz...only ever seen one b4 but it would be worth getting if you could... also think the new cruiser v8 uses this vvti

I just paid $1400 delivered with uncut loom, ecu, ignighters and AFM. Didnt come with PS pump so i will have to find that and also replace the front sump with a rear one.

Reason for my questions is i am looking for one of these donks to put in my 85mld Lux......

If anyone in the melb area has done this conversion in a lux I would love to have a look if it wasn't to much of a problem!!!

Sold my entire soarer running TV/Sat nav leather seats DVD player for air bag suspension $3500 12months ago. Should be able to find a cheaper one now.

Just checked a few of the Toyota & Jap importers around Melb most of them are saying around $2000.00 to $2500.00 for a half cut....

Anyone know of places in Melb that would do better ???

honda spares do them at around 1200 for motor not halfcut. but if you go aftermarket managment then you'll only need the ignighters(sp.) and a cut loom. and if you dont get a loom i got one from a soarer
try to get a rear sump motor cause the rear sumps are pretty dear to buy(sold one for $500)

kranked i have a P/S pump. havnt tryed it but it came out of a half cut and they left it on my motor so it's spare atm.
