Have not had any date back from Rover Park. So will not have this year. Unknown what the future holds.

But I might have a Ramp Day down the bay area in a couple of weeks time, more on that later.

Cheers

Looks like you'll have to keep waiting!

Would there be any interest if we decided to hold our own informal competition between now and Christmas? Something to cater for the 35-40" tyred rigs out there that still resemble a car?

Why does it have to resemble a car, going by memory there was just as many Buggies at the last XRCC as there was bodied rigs.

We didn't care about the courses, we were there to support the event, so why limit a "fill in" event to just something that resembles a car??

You're correct and I'm all for the buggies mate...but whilst you see this as a "fill in" event, this will the first or second event this year for a lot of these rigs so that's where the focus is.

At the moment, there is a variety of events for buggies to compete. There is nothing for those out there who have built their hilux/patrol/suzuki etc into a "rockcrawler". The competitive scene has certainly changed over the past 3 or so years but when XRCC first started, we were all playing with fullsizeish rigs. Those rigs are still out there and there's no where for them to compete on the terrain they were designed for.

So the basic brief for this would be to get those full size rigs out on the rocks competing against each other - old skool style!

Greg and I are happy to volunteer our time to get something started. Does anyone else want to get on board? Rover Park would probably be the easiest venue to organise an event and I pretty sure we can hold this under the cover of their insurance - have to confirm all this.

Please post up comments/criticisms etc so we can make this thing happen.

How about soming local and make it a fun weekend. Steel a few witches hats and mark out a track and drive it. Then move on to another. Could make a very fun weekend with out the bullshit. But make it LOCAL.

Suggest dates are 24-25 Nov (week after Werock finals) or 8-9 December (week after Ozrock finals). Any comments?
