toyota conversion for swb sierra

Post by apatrick »

Hey all just put a 5k (1.5) toyota engine and gerabox in my suzi and having massive probs with the distance from back of gearbox to the transfer case cause there is only room for one uni and it rattles like shit at anything over 60 km and really isnt doing any favours to the gearbox im sure.
Just wondering if anyone else has done this and how they overcame this prob?
cheers[/img]

yea checked that to make sure it was dead straiught when i put it in and its pretty close. i think theres just to much movement through the gearbox it wants to move when you change through the gears. not to sure though ?

Pull the shaft and check that the Uni has free movement through all its opperating angles. if you have and tight spots or binding, then chuck a new one in. Post up some pics of your setup as well. If you stuck hosting them, PM me and i will do it for you :)

How about your engine and gearbox mounts? If they are shagged maybe the motor is flexing enough to cause greif with one uni?

hmm had a look at the engine and gearbox mounts and they dont look like there would be any movement coming from there but could be a possibillitie?

ive got some pics if you want to have a squiz and spot something that may have being missed but i just dont see how this is going to work with one uni?

any one got any ideas abouty what else to do?

if you want pics of something else on the car just let me know cheers guys
