Car alarm for cruiser

Post by kalcruiser »

Hi all i own a 98 4.5 100 series cruiser and have lost the one and only beeper thing to activate and deactivate alarm central lock. I have looked round my local town and everone has said i need to install a whole new system. I have done a google on the brand repeller and have not found to much info. My question was i have looked under the bonnet at the unit and it is a simple plug in box. Do the 100 series have this large plug when new and all u need to do is install the brains???? If so i should be able to just install a new system with new controllers???

Cheers in advance

Is the alarm system the factory immobiliser?

If it is, go to your Toyota dealer, and buy remote for a Corolla ( about $20 cheaper than the cruiser & the same part ). Book it into the service department to have it programmed for your car. Looking at $40ish for the remote & $50 - $70 for the programming.

Programming sequence is something like :

With drivers door open
turn ignition on & off 5 times
close door
turn ignition on and off 20 times
open & close drivers door 3 times
hop on right foot
face mecca
put left foot in
put left foot out
etc etc etc

you get the picture
