I would be careful about placement.
Definitely dont use them for interior car lights. stand under one in someones lounge room, you will feel the heat from them.
I have seen burnt timber, aircon ducts and cables etc in buildings and these lights have been responsible for house fires when installed without enough clearance around them.
I have used the sealed 20watt ones as underwater prawning lights, just need to seal around the connection and they are sweet. When they are lifted out of the water the heat from the light will boil any water on them dry in seconds.

I've only had one get broken so far,and another has it's lens cracked,but still on the truck and working...Will have to be replaced soon though,but for $2....who cares!
wouldnt they blow once they get wet?? either from rain or water crossings/events??
Haven't had one die yet due to submersion,only broke the lens due to a rock strike.The cracked one now has gunk inside it,so it's not real bright anymore.Can be fixed for $1 bushy555 - I usually don't have them on for that long.Having said that,the little buggers do get f**k'n hot!
