i did a search but come up with nothing
so i have to ask we pulled out both cvs today to check then etc one was perfect no probs the other was strange when we tried to rotate the bell around on the axle it was extremly tight and we cant figure out why there was no visible damage or anything out of the ordinary
can anyone please possibly shed some light on this cause we cant figure it out oh its on a leaf gq ute if that helps

When you say rotate on the axle do you mean rotational pivot ? because if it is not pivoting freely it may have hairline cracks in the ring that holds the balls in place or some metal caught somewhere in it.
THE GRASS MAY BE GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE BUT YOU STILL GOTTA MOW IT.

I.e. It's stuffed. I've brought 2nd hand ones which were stiff due to the dried up grease, but if yours is still fresh/clean but binding, it's probably time for a newie.
i had one like this i used as a spear when i broke one i would shove it in out in the bush and go then change back. thing was this little bugger took more punishment than ever and never broke for heaps so i say grease it up and use it mate
yeah was packed full of grease etc was only packed about 5 mths ago and withvery little wheeling in between but anyway we have changed it for another but will keep as a spare
but i just noticed that the more you play with it the more free its getting

They wouldnt be treated Cvs at all would they?
All the treated ones we ran were like that but lasted very well.
In time it does free up but if ya flog it enough then itll break before she frees up lol
