GQ triangulated 4 link

Post by smee2u »

Anybody got good ideas on how long to make the bottom control arms on my GQ shorty and still be able to get the thing engineered. I plan on building a triangulated 4 link rear end and want to extend the wheelbase while lm at it, to stop the vehicle lifting its front wheels so much on hills. I was planning on building a new fuel tank anyway, so all the room behind the where the axles sit now is available space.

cut and extend the chassis just behind the bottom mounts, leaving the top as they are, move it all back, infill correct procedure for a chassis cut, with a section of original chassis, so lower arms become longer, top arms stay the same.

Cut short the rear section of chassis to suit new length and weld in end section.
