Yes a good question is yours Dieselgas the company that runs computer system or a deisel gas system? If it is Dieselgas the company then it is the vapour draw system that you have.pantheas18_hj47 wrote:is this for the DIESELGAS system not just a diesel gas system?truckzilla wrote:i run a deisel gas system no probs so far ,i check my ltrs/100 every time i fuel up. they say you can run 3-4ltrs /100 any more will be bad so dont get greedy.
as for the vapore draw system ive been told it will work well but if you get condensation in the system and you draw that moisture into your deisel it will go bang ,and it has happened to a few allready.
oh just clarify what i term as a vapore draw system is the type were they have no coverter and just pull vapores from the tank as for mine
yes it was fitted by dieselgas technologies in kingswood.
its not a vapore draw it feeds to a small converter in the engine bay
as for an intercooler its on the cards as soon as fund allow .
it seems funny how everyone says they get hot ,i drove to tufftruck at easter no gas and on long hauls uphill (just before yass) towing my trailer you wuold see the temp rise .
after tufftruck went back to see familly in the gong and had gas fitted ,then took the coast back to melbourne no temp rise and pulled like a train uphill .
the last time it was on a dyno with a pyro fitted it didnt go over 450

Ok thanks for that. This is the sort of info I am after as well. If your system is drawing as a liquid up to the converter in the engine bay, then why are others saying that the system is a vapour draw system. Could you double check that please. Also, how have you found there system in extreme off road conditions.truckzilla wrote:oh just clarify what i term as a vapore draw system is the type were they have no coverter and just pull vapores from the tank as for mine

Midi, there are a few different systems on the market thats why there is a vapour only which requires a different tank, distributed by Ecoshot, then a normal liquid gas to a convertor system.
As for exhaust temps, if you add any sort of extra fuel without adding extra air, exhaust temps will rise higher and quicker. We have proven it on a diesel and gas vehicle.

thanks for the tec help there Andy ,yes i beleive that is was the Ecoshot system you mention that i was warned off .
apparently mine is one of the more complex systems taking about 3 days to fit and a lot of $$$$$
and yes i did have the recomened 3" from the turbo fitted at the same time .
at this stage i would have to give the d/gas the big thumbs up its so much better to drive in all situations
as for off road conditions that Midi asked ,i find it great it maks power sooner and lower in the rev range ,i now find i crawl up hills in 2nd low and still have fast throttle respose (similar to a pety)when i nead to give a little squirt to get over a slippery obstical .
and no i dont have crawler gears ,just 4.65 centers turning 37s (basicaly standard gearing )

one more thing to add ,it has been said that more fuel added means more heat .
however i have found that my totall ltrs/100 has not changed at all ,i have found that now i use 4lrs/100 less diesel and use 3-4ltrs/100 of gas so my totall is still the same as before the gas .
maybe this is why i have not had an overheating issue ,i'm not adding more fuel just making more power with the same amount

that is because you are getting a more complete combustion, and therefore more power from each litre of fuel, so each litre of fuel used will now get you further than previously. that is y the economy has droped.
as for the heating, are you goinf by the temp gauge on your dash? if so, that will be a negligable difference. the difference will be in the exhast, thats where the temp will be going up

no i dont have a gauge for egts in car but it has been checked on a dyno as i mentioned before.
i am a little puzzeled about one thing though ,if your internal temp and egt are high enough to do damage how can you say that you would see no difference in the engine temp gauge .
i am sure that if combustion temps were that hot to do damage you would see even a slight rise in engine temps .
in my case i have not seen even the slightest rise ,this was not the case before the gas .

can we have a list of systems names because with abreviations and the like i think it is getting confusing. if we have a list then the posts can specify which one they are talking about and we all know whats going on. perhaps the first post can be edited to show this list and request accuracy in descriptions. The ones i know of are
ecoshot
dieselgas
d-gas
generic local guy system
and i think there is one other 'named' system but cant remember it.
in regards to the vapour draw that would be like this???
a system like the truckies used to use (atleast to my understanding) of (in basic form) a gas bottle under the seat with a pipe to the injection system. To get a boost up a hill they turn on gas by just twisting the valve on the bottle.

Drive it as far as you can then sleep in it and get up and do it all again!
Exhaust gas temps can go from around 150deg C (idle) to hot enough to melt your pistons in under a second.truckzilla wrote:no i dont have a gauge for egts in car but it has been checked on a dyno as i mentioned before.

Your whole engine and cooling system would take probably 10 minutes to respond, if it's ever going to. My vehicle coolant temp does not rise at all when EGT's get up to and beyond safe limits.
If by coincidence your coolant temp needle rises when EGT's get out of control then it's going to be far too late.
You may as well get a "replace engine" light fitted.
Thanks guys, this is good, keep it all coming. Yes that list is a great idea. So from what I can gather is that the ecoshot system is the vapour draw system. The others are all liquid draw, unless the local guy is. I think "Torquegas" on the sunny coast is also vapour draw.pantheas18_hj47 wrote:can we have a list of systems names because with abreviations and the like i think it is getting confusing. if we have a list then the posts can specify which one they are talking about and we all know whats going on. perhaps the first post can be edited to show this list and request accuracy in descriptions. More comments on the various systems would be great.
Cheers.
ok i see now it is the speed the combustion temps rise to fast to effect the block thanks.
I do already have a shopping list that includes ,booste comensator ,pyro gauge and intercooler .
im thinking
of going water-air .
any thoughts.
as for companys you should note there are a few called dieselgas
diesel/gas australia (SA)
Dieselgas technologies (NSW)
and there are others .
also i have seen on other sites, posts claiming there is no rebate for D/Gas
so unless things have changed in the last 6months i can tell you that i claimed it and the $2000 went in the bank

the law was changed so that it read something along the lines of, if the vehicle engine has LPG fuel added to the system, then it is subject to the rebate.
whereas it used to say that engine CONVERTED totake lpg would be subject to the rebate.
so yea, its subject to the rebate
