Pretty sure JC drilled them Dee. I've got a photo I think from his thread on here or NBS that's a close up of it.

I run a 40mm OME HD rear up front and with mine drilled my shackles are just flatter than 45 deg. Think they're 110 or 120mm eye to eye. I don't know if OME HD rears are longer than standard rears though.

Steers well and drives perfectly.

Yes I redrilled them, 25mm back but not in line had to up slightly probably about 5-6mm from memory. No tail shaft spacer as I not sure the diff moved forward much to enough to cause issue anyway.

no i didnt redrill the rear hangers. the shackle angle is near vertical because there is no weight in the front ( no motor, box, front bar, possibly winch)so with all that in i recon it will drop it down lots and improve the angle, if not ill start again. wasnt too bad to do, easy actually and easily reversed.

a pic of it hanging, yes there still needs to be a plate welded on to stop it from inverting :D

[quote="11_evl"]i did mine like this with the spring in the orignal rear mt

Image

i just added the piece of U box steel

just a quick question,

do u think u will have more issues with aproach angle then before since the shakles are sitting ferther out the front than before?

could this set up be done with a reverse shackle system and still work the same?

yes id say my approch angle is affected by using the RUF but the beniffits are heaps better than the bad. plus IF and WHEN i go to 33s or 35s that problem will dissapear anyway. like i have said in other posts, it has been easy to do so ill try it and if it doesnt suit my driving ill change to a different setup. i was looking into the shackle reversal option for the beniffits of sliding up ledges but couldnt find any good pics to copy off

i have done the same with my ruf setup, i had an "upper" shackle made, 60mm eye to eye. 11_evl's may be a bit longer.

here you can see the shackle angle a bit sharper with the springs "compressed" (more weight on them), & my approach angle on 33's.
