Modding a non winchbar to fit highmount winch

Post by InSanE »

Im planning on having a go at modifying my arb style non winchbar to fit my new highmount winch and i am just curious if anyone else has done this? I have braced and lifted the mounts with 4mm plate for the body lift, now i want to make a cradle inside the bar from 6mm plate will this be thick enough to cope with the weight just interested in what people think and have done? And even some pics would be great thanks.

And i know im going to have to cut out the grill to fit the winch in like this.

I had a look at mine as when I get the cash I will be doing the same thing.

One thing that I have noticed is that bars that have been body lifted seem to have a bit more reinforceing than ones that arent.

Lever force etc. It certainly dosent look hard to do if you have a plasma etc.
