2 questions, 1)blackduck next weeknd 2)event mail list

Post by Bingham »

i believe black duck next weeknd is having a few comps, thinking of a trip out friday evening and then sat night gatton b& s

In black duck brochure in big bold letters reads NO DRIVING DUSK TILL DDAWN, is this enforced, as if so it would be pointless us heading out friday, unlike landcruiser park where all night driving is the norm.

wouldnt mind getting on some srt of an email mailing list of 4wd day events and drives for sunnycoast brissy area, apart from the obvious phoning clubs who i might add seem in some cases the screening process seems more like your running for president, as opposed to having a good day with people of the same interests.

Some people such as my self also cant make meetings monthly due to work commitments and so I was told it would make it hard to be SELECTED to join their club. As most of my mates also are generally unable to attend these meetings where its generally is a power struggle between the most disliked people in the "CLUB" intent on going round and round in circles ==>we can find out about night navs for example the day after the event and reports of poor turnout surface.

A bit of a winge from a genuinely interested 4wder annoyed with "CWA"
clubs!

Bingham, night driving at Black Duck is not permitted because of council laws. I am organising the Logan Challenge which is the event you are referring to out there for next weekend, and the competitors will be driving on the saturday night, but the owners of Black Duck have had to get a permit to allow this.
I am sorry to hear you have this opinion of the club scene. You have obviously had a bad experience somewhere. I can tell you that not all clubs are like that. Our club (Logan District), does not "select" anybody. If someone is interested in joining, we'll take them. The more the merrier. We have a very relaxed club. No one takes it too seriously. It is a social club, not work. So, don't give up on the club scene just yet.

P.S - We don't have any rules about 'you have to attend meetings'. We have a large percentage of our club that are in the same position as you.
Simon.

Gold Coast club is the same way..... you dont have to come to the meetings. Get the mags, you know whats going on for the next month or so. We do prefer people get behind the club and become involved in things, but if you cant, you cant. No sweat.
