MQ/MK Wheel base difference , Length measurement needed

Post by pongo »

I am wanting to stretch a swb aux tank a bit more to suit a LWB .

Anyone now the exact length difference?

The plan is to get a steel band bent up , then cut the tank with an oxy or grinder ( ;) ) and then weld the band in it to make it longer. I roughly estimate and extra 60 litres to be had which is another 300-4oo kms.

I did try and search, and checked the workshop manaual and came up dry.

Thanks

if it's the difference in wheel base your looking for its 620mm or 24.4''. swb = 2,350 mm or 92.5'' and lwb (ute also) = 2,970mm or 116.9''.
mq shorty, black, rust free!!, quarter chop, F&R tube bars and sliders, q78's or 33'' stt's, 4.88's with lsd waiting to be thrown in.. :D http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9540

rather than get a steel band made up, why not grab another tank from a wreckers and just cut the ends off that and weld it in the middle of your existing tank? would prob be cheaper, and its def gunna be the right dimensions
