hilux surf faults

Post by mrRocky »

time to upsize the family rig and am looking at spending about 10k on a hilux surf turbo diesel, but i have heard a few things that have put me of.
head and cooling probs, plus a reputation for generally being gutless has made me consider a safari patrol. but the extra room and asthetics of the surf still hold a glimmer of hope.
what say you. long trips and the occasional beach hack will be the norm can the surf handle it.
any help appreciated, cheers
