V6 VS commodore into 4 runner AIR CON

Hi,

Getting towards the end of swap and i need to start thinking about hooking up the air conditioning.

Here are my thoughts so far.

The air con hoses are currently on the drivers side in the runner. From what i can see one of them goes to the condenser (drivers side) and the other routes in front of the condenser to passenger side and ends up going to the fittings on the firewall. Air con box (for lack of better phrase).

Do i just remove the pipe that runs in front of the condenser and plumb it into Commodore air compresser on passenger side? So just get an aftermarket hose to go from firewall fitting(air con box) to the compresser.

Do i just remove the pipe that goes to the condenser and get an aftermarket hose that routes back the other way to Air compresser on passenger side.

I am pretty sure this is the way to do it but just wanted to here from anyone else that has done the conversion and what they did.

Any info appreciated.

I did this conversion and the thing is to make custom hoses that have a comm pump fitting and toyota the other end.

keep everything on pass side and make sure you get a new filter dryer and the tx valve is in the system

also renew all your a/c o/rings, including the ones in the evaporator box under the dash, so undo every union and take it out now before you gas it

also allow enough movement in the a/c hose for body flex, as tight hoses will fail

All good advise, but the only problem I see here is how to actually make those custom pipes. Most air cond places don't have the fittings or the ability to crimp them and Enzed don't do air fittings, so I was forced to go to a guy in Penrith who did the complete job, including re-gass, but it ended up costing around $450. I'd be keen to find a cheaper alternative for next time round. I would love to have been able to do it myself.

The A/C place that did my toy/comm pipes was World AIr. No longer in existence. They alloy welded the comm barbed bits to the toy alloy fittings.

Hence the advise I give about enough slack for body flex. Th welds broke on on of my fittings.

I'm sure enzed or pirtek could join 2 pipes with a double ended barb fitting or put barb fittings with male and female threads in 2 pipes

I had a mobile guy come to do mine at a mates workshop. Did A/C and power steer all new hoses and fittings for $300.
