Its a little premature (like Bj on roids in bed i read) but would like to get an idea on times and costs associated and who people DO recommend.

If it is your front shaft take it to a good engineering shop, Promac did my front within 3 thou or something or other and it cost $100 5 years ago. Fronts really shouldn't need balancing if they are within a few thou, mine has never given me dramas :D

Gibsons at edgeworth are great to deal with and come with recomendation off a few of the locals although I havent had a driveshaft done through them, only bought CV's. Ask Hypo if you want to know about the quality of their driveshafts though as they did the shafts on his lux...

cheers all.
I will give hardy spicer a ring and also gibsons.

It is for a rear shaft. with the driveline i have in an FJ40 the rear will be a short shaft.
the front will be fairly long.
i can take the bits to them there is no probs there.
well i can shortly just sourcing some donor shafts at the moment.

further to this, whats everyones tips on double cardins? hilux ones or i hear MQ ones can be quite good?
