Gday
well im planning to get a bigger fuel tank for a proposed morten/fraser trip and so far ive got two choices
-4wdsystems ($560 roughly)
-long ranger ($900 roughly)
i know there has to be a difference in quality between the two, but is it really THAT bad(its a big gap $400)- keep in mind im only a uni student and ill keep this car till it dies and it does 80% of it driving on highways. Is a 4wd systems one ok? does anyone know anyspecs on the tank?
also ill be putting it in myself at work(diesel fitting). is there anything special i need to get or remember for the swap.
When i rang up arb i was told that i need a mod plate (stupid QLD) becasue im changing the fuel capacity of the car- it will cost another $150, is it really that nessesary?
thanks

I have heard only shit things about 4wd systems from tanks to drawers and everything inbetween, you get what you pay for 400 for a tank that will fit up perfectly, not have leaks or shitty baffles.
worth it in the long run

It's simple: questions are inherently good. Your questions... not so much

x2, they said my swb mK had different mounting points for my tank to all the other patrols made. Wierd how the tank follows me from patrol to patrol and is a perfect bolt in now modified.
Also the delivery time
oh yeah and they want the $$ up front before they put your order in for it to be made.
My story is fairly tame compared to the shockers i have heard of here
Tank works fine though

im still waiting for a reply 4yrs later to several emails regarding suspension lifts I sent to them...
thanks for all the replies-
i rang 4wd systems today to get some more info
$709 for tank plus $74 for postage so its not really much price difference to go up to a better quality tank-so im going to go the long ranger
also ill probably not worry about getting a mod plate- the car cost 2k 5years ago- and its got NO resale value(no a/c no pwr str) and no has all the usuall bush scars, but dont get me wrong ill put it in properly.
