75 series cruiser Inner Front Axles?
First does anyone know with out a doubt what other inner axles are the same length as 75 series. Hilux,40 series,60 series?
Otherwise is there anyone here that has a pair of inner axles that they could measure for me please?
I know the CVs are interchangable i just need to work out what other inner axles are interchangable.

Thanks. Thats what im trying to work out. Bobby is not certain on what Axle to use for a 75 series kit as they dont have them over there. But i expected they would match something else.basketcase wrote:Pretty sure Lee with the tube cruiser has 40 series chromo cv's and axles in his 75 series diffs. I'll measure his spare stocko's tomorrow at work.
The short side it's the same in 40, 70, 60 and same bierfields between exept on new 7* series with front HP 8" axle ..
The 7* long side inner axle it's in the middle between 40 ( shorter ) and 60 series ( larger )

So can anyone confirm that a longfield FJ40 30 spline set will fit in a 75 housing (or that one is even available?)?

hands and mums dont count!!!
for 1984-1990 75 series (low pinion front) use a 1980-1984 FJ40 or BJ40 front axles exactly the same.RUFF wrote:Thanks. Thats what im trying to work out. I think they are talking about the early Drum Brake ones need the Hilux Conversion as they had Course spline CVs. And even earlier than that had sime inbread set up that didnt even use a CV.dogbreath_48 wrote:Could that be because 40's use a different type of CV compared to the hilux/75/60 etc? (which i understand are identical?)bulldogy wrote:Im not sure if that link with the 40s will work or not it says you must replace the knuckle setup to a hilux one??

The Hilux CV will fit most Australian 40 series. At least anything with a Disc front they will fit defianatly.
there was a changeover in the mid to late 70s, but I wouldnt risk it, and I would do the disc conversion regardless, get the AISIN hubs and the later CVs, self cleaning and self adjusting brakes...RUFF wrote:I think they are talking about the early Drum Brake ones need the Hilux Conversion as they had Course spline CVs.
