Free Dynotuning

Post by PGS 4WD »

For anyone interested something we are trying for all those who doubt the benefit of a good dynotune.

We will run the vehicle on the dyno and check mixture, timing, manifold vacuum, exhaust temp as necessary to establish the state of tune, if we feel that we cannot get an improvement in power and driveability then there will be no charge for time spent.

Sounds good to me, then how much for mods if you think they can be done, and charge per hour?

Might bring my car down

I am certainly interested. But time is the killer for me.
Wangaratta to lilydale is a bit far at the minute. I am just going to turn the fule down a bit more and live with it being a slug until I take some annual leave and can organise some time to get over there.

If we believe we can get an improvement and you choose not to go ahead it is $95 or $75 for affiliated club members.

This is for any vehicle, if don't have the resources to tune it then of course there is no charge.

I have Gen 3 and Gen 4 EFI live, Ford Flashscan, Motec, Autronic, Haltech, interfaces and software and familiar with many others. I also tune VN to VS Delco Memcal style ECU's real time, have all the metering rods for Gasresearch Carbies, as well as Holley stuff and some Quadrajet bits and pieces, but good tune parts are getting harder to come by for them. Many less common carbies I tune by soldering and redrilling jets and air bleeds where parts are less available, down draft webbers and stuff like that.

Of course we have Diesel facilities also.

What happens if you think you can get some extra Hp out of an engine, try everything and don't get anything out of it.

Do you still charge the money?

Do you still charge if you reduce the HP of the engine?

If we make no more power of course there is no charge, its a chance we are taking, I know from my years of tuning when substantial or minor gains are likely from the performance of the vehicle and the data I log.

There have been a few instances where I have intentionally lowered power outputs for the longevity of the engine, if the state of tune of the engine (too hot EGT, too lean petrol or detonating for example) is likely lead to engine problems then if the customer agrees I would charge for the changes to make the tune safe. If you wanted the vehicle to remain in a dangerous state of tune I would charge only the prices quoted earlier for the assesment.

Saturdays by appointment, you will need to book, usually a couple of days notice.

Hope that makes sense
