HZJ105 Dash Warning Lights - Christmas tree

Post by me3@neuralfibre.com »

I have just swapped the alternator in the cruiser, last one died with come blown diodes.

Now intermittently, the dash warning lights all come on whilst driving. The intensity seems to vary with RPM somewhat. It also flickers like it's a bad connection.

Is anyone aware of a know fault that could cause all the warning lights to come on? Even the T-Belt warning and Air Filter blocked light up.

I suspect my glow plug bulb has blown, but I don't see how it could be related.

Thanx

When you swamp an alternator the christmas tree comes up as the alternator isn 't functioning. So in my very limited auto electrical knowledge I would be looking at the connections as I think it isn't transmitting power at the times the lights come up.

it is a 'known' problem; often the plug at the back of the alternator; pull it off, give it a squirt, give the pins a very slight twist and whack it back on.

the other potential culprit is the alternator brushes but if you swapped on a new/reconditioned unit then it should not be that.

yeah mine used to do it when i got it wet.

As long as it goes away again and you've still got a belt it shouldn't really matter too much
At first I thought it was a sea anemone, upon closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.
