hey mate, I drive an NG LWB intercooled TD. A few months back, I took my car to get it dyno-tuned, repair and upgrade the fuel pump (as it was blowing alot of smoke) and increase the boost of my turbo. Prior to playing with my turbo, it was only sitting on 8psi (probably a little lower thans standard boost) , but now it is running 14psi. In addition to this I also fitted a 2.5 inch exhaust (at the direction of the turbo specialist, not the exhaust specialist) and it makes all the difference in the world in driveabiliy, power and fuel economy.

I paid $420 for my 2.5 exhaust from my local exhaust specialist (without a turbo dump pipe, just back from the flange). The dyno tune and upgrade for the fuel pump and turbo will cost around $900 if your pump and turbo are in good shape. My fuel pump wasnt in good condition and cost me an additional $400, so all up, I was looking at $1700 (if you can justify spending that much money on your car). I took a big risk doing this, because I wanted to improve my fuel economy- not necessarily my power. Thankfully it paid off in the end. Not only did I have 33% more power (45kw to 60kw), I have 591nm of torque and I am getting maybe 50km more per tank so yeah i reckon it was money well spent
