what to do when your truck is lift a little more then expect

Post by ROVERNIT »

G'day all

needs some help after installing my suspension on my Disco 2 I now have 5 inch lift on the front and 4 on the rear

two options are

option 1 is to place 1 inch spacer on the rear to bring the rear up

or

Option 2 is to pull the front springs out have them reset

problem with option 1 is that Im pritty certian that the front ACE is going to bind up to over come this maybe I can install some Disconct sway bar links

Problem with option 2 is if Dobinson reset my spring then the coils will be tighter and give bugger all arc

what to do

Resetting the springs won't increase the rate as long as all the coils are still free to move.

Cutting coils out will stiffen them up.

Did you put the left and right on the right sides. Do you have a bullbar / winch / Duel batteries. Adding these will also solve your problem.

havent allowed them to settle as such there been in for a week with no real driving even so the front end is 20mm higher then the rear the right and left is sorted as the truck sits even from left to right its just front to back thats a concern

As of yet there no winch or battery set up how ever there comming soon I hope even so with springs 220 pounds a mear 60kg may just bring it down perhaps 10mm and with a small spacer on the rear I might just get away with it

ive asked a mob over in the states if they can assist in any way with ideas because at a 5inch front lift the diff angle is pritty big they do modify radius arms for even a D2 I thinks

any way have a look here and tell me what you think
