100 Series Cruiser Gear Box

Post by expanda_matty »

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help me with some info. Throwing a second hand gear box into my 105 series, running the old 1HZ. Can anyone tell me if the box out of an 04 will fit???? People ive been speaking to cant give me an answer one way or the other.

Cheers,

Thw 100 series 1hz came with an r150 or 151 cant remember...they are used in v6 runner, supra, prado, turbo diesel hilux etc...if the one you are transing is from a 1hz 100, it will fit. The turbo diesel factory box is h150 as in what an 80 series 1hz has....they (h150) will fit but you need the transfer with them, as the r transfer has diffeent input splines.

R151F in the HZJ105. H150F is what you want, same input spline and low 1/2 ratios, and much stronger.

the gearbox from a 04 105 series will fit but it is still only a R151F.

I have one but it is condition unknown, would probably be safer to rebuild it.

this may be an option:

Didn't recognise it as being out a 105 with that weird shifter appendage on top, but the part number checks out for a std wagon, i.e. with bench seats.

If fitting the H150F you will also need to change the transfer case too, i.e. different t/c input splines compared to R151F.

I have a big spline t/case and would be willing to swap for your broken r series and tcase.
Also there is this one on ebay... but I'm unsure whether the hdj79 runs the old split tcase or not. Hard to tell from the one pic.

Nope HDJ runs the same part time t/case as the part time 80 and 105.

Thanks heaps for all your help guys,

This is the 1st time ive posted on the site and the help ive received had been great. Its got to the stage though where time has overcome me. Ive had to send it into get it done with my usual bloke i use when im to busy.

He'll be back to me soon as to what where going to do (its all about time at the moment, you all know how it is, dont want to miss out on the next trip) It maybe a changover or might not, If not ill get back to you boys because im not interested in rebuilding this one. Im trying to clean the she out and dont need more parts.

Thanks again everyone.
