TD42T and electronic boost controller

Hi guys,
I have an electronic boost controller which i am looking to fit to my TD42T.
Only thing is, the controller has a tube on it which says "Connect to the surge tank, or a place that generates vacuum with throttle OFF"
Any hints on where i would have to connect this in order for it to function or at least where i might start looking.
It's a GU2 wagon. non intercooled (yet)

the vacume pump?

dieses dont have manifold vacume like a petrol so this may confuse an ebc

sorry, i should have pointed out i know diesels don't create vacuum except with a seperate pump.
This particular controller wants the vacuum i guess to know when you're off the throttle.

What brand of b/c is it? It should have a pipe diagram, it may just go back to the inlet system before the air filter.

Just a thought, but are they really talking MAP pressure raather than vacum? That what when boost is on it will tell th EBC to open the wastegate?
93 Nissan Pathfinder / Terrano Turboed VH45, GQ Trans and T-case, coil overs, hydraulic winch and fair bit of other stuff. (Currently a pile of parts in the workshop)

All a b/c wants to see is boost pressure so it can measure it, the a boost feed going to the stepper motor then the hose going from it to the wastegate actuator.

I have an eboost fitted to mine, its pretty simple.

it's a dual solenoid type.

Btw, once it's in i'll prob pay y ou guys a visit. I beleive you'll be looking at my neighbours GU ute that had a little drink on the weekend, once the motor is put back together.

it proberly means to conect the hose to inlet manifold ie after a throttle on a petrol. not sure with your motor but some have butterfly and egr systems which will alter the pressure you get in the inlet manifold.
