fox shox onroad

has anyone got any feedback on fox smoothies onroad....under a patrol wagon. the car will be mainly road driven but will get offroad a few times a month. they will be valved properly and everything for the weight of the vehicle and will be very well looked after. the car has 4 inches lift and im not too keen on the ranchos under it (floats a bit)

oh yeah. probably just 2.0 with remote res. not dual tube or anything that fancy. for the set of 4 valved how i want and everything ill be getting them for just under $1400 which is less than konis.

How they handle on-road will be up to you - the whole point of adjustable shox is that you can tune them so your car handles just how you want it to.

Better than that, Talk to Cameron Ritchie from racer imports. racerimports.com.au He knows his stuff, has had years of racing experience and is local.
Been looking at downsouth motor sports myself. Only downer is they want to send 2.5" X 12" coilovers via USPS @ $435USD a pair for shipping plus you'll have to pay duty and GST.
I'll be interested to see how you go.

A new deal has been struck after the sema? 4wd show (vegas 4wd show).

Was annouced that he wont distribute to anyone due to pricing issues with other distributors locally

out of interest how would that work?

He's located in america. People can still import fox just not through him directly they will be referred to the 2 australian disributors that he has organised.

id want twins up front and the bigger ones in the rear last time i checked it was going to cost about 1700 for the 6 shocks....if someone can do better than that well id go them instead as i know exactly how they handle onroad.

my main concern is that that look like they float sometimes and that could be bad on the road.

Why do you want to run twins up front? I thought that the only reason people double up "conventional" (ie nitrochargers or pro comp) shocks is to 'share the load' so that they are less likely to get hot and fail.
Surely remote res 2.0s are 1000 times better than say nitrochargers - given the larger volume of oil - so do you really need to double them

If you dont think 2.0s will handle what you are gonna throw at them, wouldnt it be cheaper to run 2.5's than twin 2.0s? (+ easier to fabricate mounts)

I think you are missing the point about adjustable shocks - if they 'float' when you drive your truck on the road, adjust them so they dont

yeah i have researched alot more now and see it is in the valving.
