Hi Guys.
Just a few quick questions on some stuff.
1- Went to Landcruiser park on the weekend , and now have some issues with the transfer on my four speed.
I can shift from high to neutral and back with no problems. But when I go into low I can't get back into high. It will go from low to neutral and back into low with no issues . It will go back to high eventually but only when it feels like it.
Any ideas ?
2- I recently purchased a maxi drive rear axle 2nd hand .
I would like to know if any one out there has any fitting instructions that I could get a copy of?
Any help would be appreciated .

Tried it all . Moving slowly ,at a stop . Nothing seems to make much difference. It goes back into high whenever it feels like it.
Yeah it is the whole axle . Putting in the diff isn't a problem , I just want to fit all the other bits properly the first time with out any guess work . I could prob figure it all out easy enough but if I can get fitting instructions ,it just makes things easier. Apart from that if anything ever goes wrong I'll have an idea of how it all works.

Put in first gear and hold a little pressure on the hi lo selector. Let the clutch out slow. It should click straight in when the clutch pedal is about half way. Has the Maxi got a electric/vacuumswich or just vacuum?

I will try that with the Hi Low . I would rather try to figure out "the nack" to getting it back into gear , I dont want to pull out the box is I can help it.

My girlfriend's Holden Drover had an issue where I couldnt move the transfer lever once I got it into 4WD. sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. When it jammed i actually had to take the transfer lever out and put it back in again (not too hard to do in a driver/sierra). I had to replace a gasket that had worn out (this was about 18 months ago now) and it hasn't been a problem since...
1990 NG Paj TDI: 2.5 exhaust, 146l Longranger tank, snorkel, 2" suspension lift, 31" Bighorns.

Yeah My better half's suzuki sierra had the same problem as that ( seems to be a common thing with the suziki coming around to that age) and is a easy fix.
Unfortunately the rangey 4 speed is a different beast altogether . The transfer lever is attached to a shaft which comes out of the side of the case.
I tried putting the gearbox in first with clutch in and pulling on the transfer lever and slowly letting out the clutch. But that diddn't work. I could feel the lever moving foward and back slightly , but it did not want to pull in .
Once again any help would be appreciated !
Getting a little sick of breaking 4 speeds !
Really thought the diffs would have gone first .
