making a 1HD-FTE engine fit

Will the 1hd fte engine fit my auto ???
I have a 93 model 4.5ltr 80 series
I've been told they should fit up to factory engine mounts & the auto
Is this true ???

I'm pretty sure the 1H* block and the 1FZ-FE block require different bellhousings, and the engine mounts are slightly different locations.

The auto is thesame, the bellhousing, converter and ecu that controls the autos shifts are different...for instance in power mode, and with foot flat, the petrol changes up at 5k plus...try revving the hdfte to 5k.

arent the pre 95 autos non electronic
eg use a kickdown cable?

if so would this be a better choice

Yes and therefore you will need either the hydraulic box (no computer) or the auto ecu from a multivalve turbo diesel, and if you find one let me know because they are hard to get hold of

would the controller from a 1hdt work?
or would it have to be a multivalve?

what 80 series had the non computorised autos? are they the pre 92 model or something with the a440 box?

is there any non computorised a442's?

Mines a 93 model ????
Preety sure mines not computer controled
Would I need a bell housing off a 100 series ????
As a 79 never came in Auto
I found a complete motor with 15000kms for $8500
Comes with everthing
The 80 would be awsume with this engine in it
Keep the info coming as I think will be a popular conversion in the next few years

IF you have a power mode switch, it is computer controlled.....the 60 series ran an a440, the first 80's ran a442 hydraulic in petrol and turbo diesel...they had the 123dnrp tbar no mode switches at all...then came the 4.5 and all went to electric, the model designation is a442f
so any diesel ecu will run the auto, but you are looking at doing alot of work to fit the throttle position potentiometer as the fte is fly by wire

and the only diesel auto boxes that were electronically controlled were multivalve. I am 99% sure of this unless i missed something.
