help...tech on fitting TH400 to transfer

Post by Tiny »

so I am putting a t400 behind my chev 6.2 oiler currently fitted to the standard BJ73 gearbox and transfer.

Transfer is fitted with gears

87 model 73 so I presume 19 spline transfer

gearbox and transfer has being dropped and the aute has being fitted with the marks oil pan and adapter plate which was bought done off ebay and I have no destruction manual

I have removed the 4 bolts that run through the transfer into the gearbox housing and removed the plate that reveals the main shaft? from the gearbox into the transfer through a bearing and retained with a bolt on the end of the shaft. this obviously needs to be removed (need to get the correct socket) to allow transfer to be split, but it looks like there is another shaft running from the gearbox into the transfer???

Can anyone give me some pointers, have never had much to do with this side of things

Thanks

Tiny

Ive only removed a couple of these transfers and it was prob more than 10 years ago now. From memory you only need to undo that bolt on the output shaft and it should all slide straight off.
