i have a 83 mdl hilux 2.2 ltr diesel and i cant find the engine number anywere can sum one tell me were abouts it is :cry: its all i need 2 get it regod

it's the person writing the roadworthys drama. it may be above injector pump not quite under no1 inlet port/,manifold look around there you'll have to be looking down to see it this is where they are on the 2,3 and 5L'

i have had a look around them areas and down on the sump at the back of the block but still no go

It is above the inj pump. If u look down between the thermostat housing and the intake, below #1 injector u will se it on a flat bit protuding from the block.
I have a 2.2 that is being used for a pump on the farm #0728403 ;)

i know the flat bit u r talking about its just not there it doesnt look like it has been ground off it just looks like a flat bit cast in 2 the block

no worries, as u will see from the pic, a leaky injector makes the number easier to see
