running, then dead
running, then dead
It's not what u drive, it's how u drive!!
Thats the ignition fuse blowing, I had the same problem about 4 months ago.
Spent a whole week pulling my car to bits. I stripped the tape off of all the possibly related wires and went over the whole lot with a fine tooth comb, couldn't find anything. Re-bound all the wires with new electrical tape. I even borrowed another under dash loom from next door and tried that. The thing still blew on and off as it pleased.
I put it back together, and took it for a drive up the bush with dad in pursuit (with tow ropes). I was hitting bumps at 60km/h, I was pulling wires under the dash as I drove (now you know why I was up the bush doing this), etc etc etc... And it would not die.
To this day I do not know what caused it, Its still going strong now. Only the other day I found out I forgot to plug my brake lights back in , and even after plugging them back in she is still going strong.
A Possible solution: When Mine blew, I was using an LED flasher unit for my indicators, but I had my bullbar (with LEDs) removed, and the standard bumper on the front with standard globes. When the fuse blew the first time, I also cooked the flasher unit. However I replaced the flasher with the original, and it was still blowing fuses, but not hurting the flasher. I run the same type of LED flasher now, and my LED front lights, and I havn't had a problem.
Very long winded, sorry. Probably not too helpful either, but thats why I hate electronics, it always beats me!

Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
It's electrical problems like this that cause us mechanics to pull hair out. It will be a short somewhere but could take pulling the car completly to bits to find it. An auto sparky will find it for you but it could get pricy unless he has seen a problem like this before. They certainly know how to charge! Have you played with anything electrical in the last little while?
