GQ Spotlights/Overheating?

Post by dano80 »

G,day, just wondering if a set of 3 lightforce will it effect engine cooling, I think it would effect Airflow a little.......Any ideas, P.S. the Rig has an ARB bar with the higher (above the fat part of the bar???) Spotlight mounts.

Cheers, Dano.

probably would have an effect, not legal anyway, lights have to be in pairs. Didn't you post a while ago about bigger headlight globes and a dicky switch due to too much current!? scared of the dark?

my temperature gauge used to sit on a quater until i mounted my lightforce xgt's on my tube bar. now it sits on half way all the time and when in traffic or hard driving it gets up to 3/4's. i removed all my air con condensor and all that stuff from infront of the radiator and wired up a little thremo fan and now its back to normal. here is a picture of all my lights. im scared of the dark as well

my old girl on 40+ days while towing would start to creep up. I removed the dirty great big nissan badge that sat in the middle of the grill and it helped alot!

so 3 light's may depending on how good your cooling system is effect it

Yeah cheers Chaps, Think I'll still look at puttin' 3 lightforce 240 blitz/xgt's on (budget pending!). And then prolly look at thermos or something, to that effect to keep the bugger cool,

Good idea with the nissan badge.....That bloody thing is huge, prolly make a huge difference!

Cheers , Dano.

Hey mate, got same setup as you want on mine, arb bar with triple 240 blitz's. Didnt notice any difference from two to three. The temp always sits just under half way, Even towed a car trailer back from bris the other week during the day with air con on and running LPG and still didn't go over half.

As for legalities, yes they say pairs only but I think the extra spot light is the last of our worries on this forum ..
