So while ever the other members are on course the vehicles must be stopped?
Tony I see your point as I think the rules have glossed over a couple of things
Chris, just to clarify the rules you have sent out -
Plus you have posted··All team members (drivers, navigators) must start at the ‘start’ position and may not move along the course until the first car has gone over the start line.
·Track packing may only occur once the first vehicle has past the start
·Once packing has taken place only the currently participating navigators can remain within the inner bunting, to direct their drivers, all the others must move into to corridor between the track and the spectators.
Thereforewe have decided to let them assist by packing ahead and coming to the aid of a 'stuck' vehicle.
1. The team must be at the start line and cannot enter the course until the vehicles do
2. Once the vehicles have started the team can then move off to start packing
3. The team members presumably must move off the track before the vehicles get too close and then, they can be of no further assisitance unless a vehicle becomes "stuck"
This means the team will have to be on the course while the vehicles are moving, so could you please clarify the following
QUESTIONS
A. At what point do the team members have to move to the corridor ? Is it a predetermined distance for example
B. If a vehicle stops moving (while team members are in the corridor) because the driver is not happy with line, can the team members come back onto the course to pack rocks around the vehicle ?
C. If a vehicle becomes stuck, but not counted out, you state the team can assist. In what ways are they able to assist ? Can they attach a strap and pull a vehicle backwards for example. If not, what do you mean by "assisting"
Cheers

You guys are making me regret arguing for ANYONE other then the navvies being allowed on the track.
Most of your questions will be clarified at your driver's briefing, and there will be a good oportunity to ask questions. Generally we want any extras to stay well ahead of cars or behind the 1st line of bunting (which is generally only a meter away at most). Last year as the cars took off from the start line team members raced ahead to pack perceived problem areas. This isn't a problem. They were also allowed to rock a car stuck on logs, this is also not a problem as long as people step back as the car moves off. If a car is leaning over, a strap can be used to stabilise them as in previous years, no hands on the vehicle. If the marshall thinks you are not doing it in a safe manner, he will say so. You won't be penalised immediately, as I did say "risk" rather than "will incur" penalties. If people are reasonable there shouldn't be a problem.
Now can I please get back to making those passes most of you are hanging out for?

Thanks Chrissy,
I've got no problems with whatever way you want the rules to go as long as it's the same for everyone. Just thought it was better to ask it here so people dont turn up with the wrong idea.
Now stop reading this and get back to those passes.

Just thought i would remind other competitors of this from the WP website-
These also need to be originals not copies.Competitors make sure you bring along your Rego Papers, proof of 3rd party or full comprehensive Insurance (3rd Party insurance isn’t a green slip) and make sure you have your licence and your Navigators licence ready for viewing on the day, make sure the expiry date on both licence’s can be read clearly!
So who else is competing from here?
In the Logan Districts Team we have-
Team Manager- Matt Louttit (not sure if he is a member on here )
83 lux- Scott Henry and Buddy Dryden, 83 Hilux,
Wicked- Ben Henry and Tony Robinson, MQ Patrol,
Silver GQ, Jason Bond and Matt Bond, GQ Shorty,
STIKA, Brett Long and Troy Wilmot, FJ45 on Mogs.

Re: help
You dont need a 4wd to get to Woodpecker. 2WD access is fine. Its only a couple of hundred meters off the tar. Down a flat dirt road. You could even prob park in the Ski Park and get a lift over there if you didnt want to get a car dirty.SHANE055 wrote:hi all i've recently moved down to penrith and my lux is still in brissy getting a front coil conversion so i have no truck to take to woodpecker so if anyone who's going out on sunday morning's got a spare seat please pm me
