3L Hilux Highway RPM
Not fussed on what ratio's i have, its a farm/work ute.
Its a 96 3L fitted with turbo and intercooler on massive 31's built with a ton of bits that were lying around. Hence no idea if my gearing is stock.
I'm doing 2,800rpm on the highway at 100kph with the 31's. This seems a little high for me being that its a diesel. Does anyone have any idea as to stock RPM at 100kph.

Re: 3L Hilux Highway RPM
Sounds like 4.3's to me. (thats what mine had with a factory 2L) i was pulling 2800rpm @ 100 Kph .. swapped to 4.88's when the rear 4.3 got noisy and I am actually getting better ecomony .. On a full tank i am actually getting another 80kms (one extra round trip to work\home) about 1100 Kms between fills Vs 1000 out of 120 litres of diesal.sierrajim wrote:Not fussed on what ratio's i have, its a farm/work ute.

Understand that.high n mighty wrote:It does sound about right for 4.3's and it wouldn't matter what engine was in the vehicle, it will still do the same rpm.
More just wanting to know if 2,800rpm is where it should be.
Cheers for the replys.

3.0L turbo diesel, 4" lift, bud's front housing, track assasin cv's, air lokker front + Rear, beadlock'd 37 stickies, high steer, 15.5" travel ranchos, high pinion diff and coils on the rear
As far as I know its all Safari gear. Front mount (grille has been trimmed alont the lower edge to clear it) both hoses are pre formed to the right shape.93lux wrote:Mine has 15s sunnys on it with rubbers that match the standard 16s and it sits on 2750rpm@100kph. Sounds like yours is ok to me.
Edit:any chance of getting some info/pictures of your intercooler setup as I am looking to do this to mine. ie what inter you used etc
