98 gu interior fan dial fault!

Hi all
the other day i noticed that the dial which controls the speed of the fan only works on the fastest setting..can anyone shed some light why this has happened??

hmmm so i guess it just needs the resistor replaced??!!
how hard a jobs that and where is it located??
