Would springs and shocks out a 2.8 GU [ 1999 ] fit into a 4.2 GQ [1988 ] ???????

GU Kit fits GQ's, its a little taller...

They will, but depends on what coils/shocks you were talking about - standard or lifted? Slightly different in the rates, but will not be noticable - bolt straight in.
Built, not bought.
