TD42 head bolt torque and pattern

Post by naif »

hey guys, just wodnering if anyone on here has the torque specs for the head botls on a GQ TD42 engine and also the tightening pattern?

a scan from a gregories manuel would be great.

and also the torque for the rod end caps, ACL catolog says 57 - 70nm from memory, would like to make sure.

Start from the middle and spiral out, 1st step 29nm, second step 57-67nm, 4th step loosen all bolt completely, 5th step tension to 29nm, 6th step tighten to 64-74nm or alternately tighten 64-74 degrees from 29nm, I've always found the torque spec to be a bit tighter and have used it rather than the degrees, if you have a degree gauge I put the tension wrench on set at 74 and turn through 74 degrees, if it dosen't go off I tension until it does which usually is another 3-5 degrees.
