Ford 302 Cleveland into a GQ

I can get my hands on a mildly worked 302 with dizzy, alternator, etc., the works. I was wondering if bell-housing adaption kits, engine mounts, etc. are available for this transplant and what else is required to put into a GQ.

Just a thought as current 92 GQ Tb42e. Major electrical problems could see it's demise.

Thanks bogged, some useful info there. Seems the exhaust is the biggest issue with this conversion. Anyone got any more up to date info and whether the pacemaker headers solve the problems associated with fitment b/w chassis rail and melting clutch lines?

I'll persevere with the Tb42e for a bit longer as will be cheaper option if i can resolve problems. But if not, straight gas carby V8 will be the go. As i should be able to land this 302 for basically nothing its a major option.

You are much much better off going with a Windsor mate. I was going to put a Cleveland in mine but too many dramas. So I sold it and bought a EFI windsor. Fits like a glove!

better off to buy a chev, dozens of them round and plenty of info round easier to gather ;)

i would prefer windsor power , not too keen on adding a circled problem block to my ford maverick :P just wouldnt be right

[i put a 351 cleveland in mine, DELLO auyomotive in sydney does a kit with bellhousing, mounts & clutch, $ 1050 , 4 months ago 0297744419, it was a shit job had 2 change everything & push back the firewall abit, & sump clearence;; but it was worth it for 420hp, hope this helps a little bit

well ford is a circled problem, so is holden, dont see the chev bowtie as a circle.....

Acually last time I looked the Ford emblem was actually an oval!!! Think thats why they call it the 'blue oval'!

So they didn't really 'circle' the problem so to speak!!!

Unlike the Holden Badge, :roll:

Actually, if my trusty (and slow) td42 ever gave up the ghost I'd prolly go for a 351 clevo on gas also, just the thought of all that torgue on tap, love the old petrol truck engines! :cool:
