hilux new clutch.. Not working

I have changed the master clutch cylinder/ slave cylinder/ reco'd gearbox, and have (to my knowledge) installed the clutch and gearbox properly as well as bled the clutch...


Now i checked the slave cylinder and it is moving forward, but when i select a gear and go to let the clutch out you can hear the clutch bearing ticking (new bearing) and there is no drive what so ever...

also the clutch pedal has hardly any resistance...

I tried to adjust the master cylinder at the back but made no difference?

Any ideas?

i had similar trouble with my hilux and i found it to be a faulty bleed nipple on slave cylinder wasnt allowing me to bleed the system properly
84lux-project. A-frame, 350 chev, turbo 350 auto, duals, rears up front, crossover, twin locked and a 118" wheelbase

yeh thats what i thought, i have changed clutches before and have never had this problem....

I tried to bleed it around 5-6 times and had no more air coming out... Ill have to try again tomorrow...

I wonder what the chance of the slave or master cylinder being faulty? but they are brand spanking new....

Just a thought is the transfer in 2wd and not N

Is the bleed nipple in the top hole on the slave cyl have had new ones deliverd to work and had to swap them around before fitting other wise thre would have been a heap of air left in there. withthe ticking noise the throwout bearing went onto the fork ok and the fork is on the ball good i'd guess

You said you select a gear and get no drive? that fact that it lets you select a gear means the clutch is disengaged (assuming you did this with engine running) and the problem has nothing to do with fluid (at the moment) and a lot to do with why aren't you getting any drive.
Clucth / thrust bearing / clutch fork not installed correctly - have a good look at that.
Air in line would either mean (with engine running) it would crunch or be very hard to get into gear - and you would have drive, usually as soon as the pedal leaves the floor. You should have drive if it was a fluid only problem.

Unless of course this particular system is different to the 40 and 60 cruiser style.

I have worked out the problem.... :oops:

When the gearbox was reco'd there was a mistake between me and the mechanic..... the colar that links the transfer to the gear box was not installed as it was still sitting in the bottom of the parts washer... :oops:

With a bit of luck when i install it in there tomorrow everything is good...
