Extra UHF Channels

Post by blade828 »

Ive recently ditched my old UHF and got a TX3220 and was wondering what extra channels I can get. I called up Telstat in Seaford and they told me apart from ambulance and SES and a couple of others, there is not much else you can get. What other channels have you guys got? Can you still pick up police at all? I also frequent around the bendigo area but live in Melb

I know you can still get Bendigo police. Any other channels worth getting while my radio is getting programed?

Yeah, we must be behind the times, cause I got a 3440 and I got all the extra channels for most of Central QLD. It can be self programmed and scanned so I just set them myself.
If you're programing channels, I would make sure that there is at least one that you know the frequency of, as we use it as a two way, so others can't hear you. Handy for the likes of the weekend when we got pulled up by the police in our State Forest and we could talk to each other without them hearing us, as they listen to UHF as well. Channel 40 and 2 they listen in to hear.

Cheers
