I just installed an aftermarket boost gauge and under load (ie driving) it reads max 17psi. Is this right???
06 Grand Vitara Prestige, 2" lift, Kumho A/Ts, ARB winch bar, snorkel, spotties. Also a Regal 2150 LSC Volva Penta 350 gsi duoprop, and a kayak ;-)

yep, I think 16.7 psi is the stock setting.

EDIT - more like 15 - see below.

Tdi should be around 15psi or 1 bar

How do you think it pumps out 200lb ft and 112 bhp from a little 2.5 four.
It`s also the reason heads/gaskets let go more than occasionaly.

The new compound turbo charged C series Cat truck engines run up to 85psi in some applications, the run a water to air cooler followed by a air to air aftercooler. :D

go 16 and give the pump a bit of a turn u know u want too . stock there only 9 psi .Ive had my 200 running like a v8 for about a year and its on 300.000 ks the only thing i found is u have too check the valve clearance now and then :lol: :lol:

Not quite. Factory spec for 200TDi 0.82 Bar (12psi) measured at wastegate. 300 Tdi is 1.05 Bar (15psi) - so slightly less than I said above.

my intercooled TD 4D56 in my Pajero runs at 14psi (recently upgraded from 8psi)
1990 NG Paj TDI: 2.5 exhaust, 146l Longranger tank, snorkel, 2" suspension lift, 31" Bighorns.

1985 Holden Drover: 2" OME suspension & shocks, extractors, 2" exhaust, 235/75 MTR's
