EGRs typically don't "recycle" gases at full throttle, so it shouldn't affect max power. Unless diesel EGRs are different?

Thinking about it more, diesels are an excess-air engine - they should always be combusting all the fuel which is injected. Does a small amount of re-circulated exhaust gas really affect part-throttle power or economy? :?

Ahh EGR's. Effectively shitting in your own nest.

Your inlet manifold will be filled with soot and Tar, creating a heat sink, cutting air flow and remember heat is what kills these little turbo diesels heads. Recylcing hot air = bad.

Take your inlet manifold off and have alook in it - you'll be shocked. Soak it for a few days and scrub clean with a big bottle brush, block it off at the outlet on the exhaust manifold but leave everything there so it looks factory.

Then be impressed with how your vehicle behaves.
