Gearbox swap question...G13A to G13B/BA?

Post by Impulsive »

Hi all,

Pardon my ignorance, but I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if the earlier (G13A) 5-speed gearboxes match up with the bellhousing patterns of the G13B/BA motors?

For example, if someone was wrecking an earlier G13A model car with a reco gearbox, should I grab it for my 1994 model vehicle, which has a noisy box that I couldn't be bothered pulling apart...

Thanks in anticipation

Regards,

Adam

I'd only be guessing but if vitara engine fit up to g13a/b gearboxes then the two are the same.

I recently fitted a G13B Swift motor to my G13A box. If its from a 1300 Sierra, no prob, christover.

A Sierra gearbox WONT bolt straight onto a Vitara motor !!!!! :)

I think there is a slight difference between "fits up to" and "bolt straight on"
