am i just unlucky or do all terrains have thin sidewalls? ive picked up 3 punctures in 3 different tyres all in the sidewalls and to make matters worse they are only 3 weeks old!!
they were running 26 psi so plenty you would have thought to keep the sidewalls from bulging, this is on 2.4 hilux, in a wood that i drive around all the time, my old general grabber ap's managed it so why cant the bfg??
I have BFG muds, which i imagine are the same casing, and have to agree they have crap sidewalls, did 2 of them on my first outing, the bloke who repaired them for me said he sees a lot of BFG's with sidewall damage.
the damage was at 16psi in forestry, one was staked, the other sliced up the sidewall.
I now run 18-20 in forestry, and 16 on rocks. without further damage (touch wood)
Have done five BFG Mud KO's this year... all sidewalls. All front driver corner. From 10psi thru to 35 psi. KO's suck to buggery. Wont be getting them again.
On my other old girl I have 9 year old BFG Muds, never had a problem with them and I give it heaps more. Got 65,000 on them and havent staked them, about 5mm left on them, rubber is hard as a rock.
