Way over priced... I get Applause engines for $120 (bare) but I have to remove them myself.

Around $300 done for you, if your lazy.

Your have to pick your engine of course, but at least you get to see it in its actual condition, in the car. If you know what to look for you can get some good engines that way - especially from written of vehicles.

That's no bargain.

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

Self serve wreckers are the way to go, bring a few mates and jobs done.

Some things to look for...

1/ a smashed car - hasn't died of old age.
2/ get recent engine in preference to older - look at odometer
3/ its a HD engine not a HC as they look very similar
4/ take the rocker cover off - if the rocker gear is a gold/light brown color its been well looked after - if its black or any evidence of carbon it hasnt'
5/ Check its had coolant
6/ pull the plugs - gunge / oil / water is bad.....
7/ check air cleaner - once again good condition, probably has been loved.

Remember all you need is the bare engine, you will need all the accessories of you Feroza engine including sump and pickup.

Bare engine - nothing.

However accessories need to be swapped - manifolds, sump, oil pickup, crank pulley, water pump, water outlet and inlet, flywheel etc etc.

That's why its not worth getting any more than the bare engine as its of no use.

Suzi4 is the seller. They are a wrecker in Sydney. Basically, for some one who specializes in only Suzuki and Daihatsu 4x4's, well... if you can't say something nice... ;)

Been there prolly 5 times for parts. 4/5 the part was wrong, either a feroza part, or a petrol part after i asked for diesel  His response.... Rocky and Feroza are the same" Also have friends who have had same experience.

I wonder if you sent it via sea how much it would cost ?

After all engine importers bring in engines and transmissions from Japan to Australia and still arn't expensive so you may be surprised.....

This is pure speculation.... but who cares if it takes 2 months ?
