I have, none of them ever see pajero's for wreckingslosh wrote:I had 3.0L V6 Pajero.... there is no way I'd ever buy one again. They may be nice when new but IMHO the engine/ driveline is built to last 250 000km tops. After that prepare to spend up. Talk to the 4x4 wreckers if you don't believe me.

Sorry for highjack
I have owned both petrol and diesel j-tops, but i have only towed with the diesel.
it pulled sweet with a fully loaded enclosed trailer up the gateway bridge stationary from the tolls.
But i must say the 3lt sounds tuff on full noise up a climb and has the herbs to stay with a 4lt jeep from the lights.
and before i get flamed by the jacka crew, i do like the later model shorty jacks, there was a sweet one around here and it was no slouch as well

lol pajero's and jackaroo's basicly have the same engine in them (153kw's)
i just saw the funniest sight on a pajero, it looked like every other pajero are they afraid of being unique or something? like a baby patrol, they all wish to look alike
feel free to hijack my threads, i don't care

my J top pulls like a teenage boy
as long as its on boost (1700rpm and up ) its fine
i used to use it to tow my 14ft boat and gear around all the time and hardly even knew it was there half the time.

RE poll results
Hey Chicko,
I voted for pajero because jackaroos are only good for putting your Maxitrax against to drive over there roof.
And I drive a very unique Patrol and not much chance of me pulling your soggy Jacka out of the first little puddle that stops it!!!
Hmmm on that note I seem to recall a bunch of Pajeros (both long and short wheel base) not even thinking about chicken tracks while the Jacka came out chicken flavoured, oh that was when it was actually running???
Peace out!!

lol a broken down jack? must have been a re-badged pajero, a jackaroo would never venture with Pajero's
Jackaroo's are wise, Pajero's just want to break things
can i please see a picture of the unique patrol? never seen one

re unique patrol
Hey Sean,
Its really hard to express sarcasm in a post but after owning and loving a zook and other fourbys I had to give in and get something unstoppable, hence the patrol.
The one on my signature got t-boned and now I drive a lime green GQ swb styleside ute.
Its a bit of fun stirring non-patrol owners and in my workshop I actually work on everything from landys, zooks, jeeps, pajs and jackas to patrols and tourer 80's.
I reckon my next tourer will be a county wagon with a crisp 5l holden motor.
I just harked up at the notion of calling people who voted for pajeros as p@@fs.
When the caterpillar engined jackas are running well they are a great tourer/mid crawler but out of the box those j-tops pajs are freakin awesome.
Each to their own however???
I will have to change my signature now??
Baxy

havent had much to do with either but there was a bloke with a Jac that tried to keep up with us on club runs, he did ok most of the time exept when the front diff wanted to part company, happened a few times then he bought a gu.
on the otherhand there are alot of paj's raced in rally n motorkana style events n seem to do well.
I dont like either more then the other, but if you want your own oppinion said back to you just ask youself again.

lol never, it just shows that the pajero's are a baby patrol, they can still be unique, but they are so common that you have to try too hard
Holden boy to the end!
now when is the next fake holden 4x4 gonna come out

re opinion
OK, so if we are talking about standard pajero wagon versus standard jackaroo wagon for a tourer I would go the last of the jackaroos with the wide flares and a turbo diesel.
Oh and use it to tow my GQ around on its tralier!!!!!!!!

hey lets keep it to the 98 models, maybe then people will change their vote
as more paj were sold it will probably be useless comparing it in a poll, you like your jacks, most people do like the 4b they drive.
why compare them?
i thought you didn't like outers??
the jacks are all at the wreckers- couldn't resist

lol only seen 5 in 12 wreckers, seen more than 30 pajero's at the same wreckers
i usually call first to check if they even have one
yea, outers is a bit yobboish, too much shit talking goes on here, too many people avoid this place cuz of it
why compare the 2? because i want to know the opinions of those who actually know about them... unfortunately this one got attacked with "i know a bloke who said they were...." and into a short wheelbase battle, neither help with what i am comparing
baxy, if you tow that GQ, you would be over the towing limit
2500pull, 120 down, 250down with a load leveler hitch
