Alternator Wire

Hi all, i have a single black and yellow wire that is unplugged on the loom running to the alternator, i have connected up the 2 other plugs but i cannot find anywhere for this wire to go and do not remember unplugging it.
the car is an 83 hilux with an 2L engine

Just recently replaced the 2l engine in my hilux and i cant see or remember where it goes....battery is still charging so i dont care :lol:

yep just replaced my engine as well but for some reason she wont start. i have power with the key turned to ACC but once i turn it past there i lose everything.

Starter hooked up properly? if so check wiring loom could have dirty connections maybe???

starter seems to have a loose connection where the big wire from the battery connects. hopefully that may be the problem.

the engine is earthed from the block back to the battery,should there be another one?

nah that should be alright...make sure the big wire going to the starter is going to + on the battery...if not i dont know what else it could be im still a noob at all this :lol:

Its a good idea to have one from your engine or gearbox to the chassis

what about the small wire running to your starter solenoid?
check for power there. if power can you here the solenoid click?

dunno but the wire.. but if it dosent start it will be started if there is plenty of charge. maybe the throwout in the starter is stuck?? mine did that. or one of the relays, dont think it would be self timer but the other one? just a guess. its happend to mine millions of times just never remember how i fixed it cuz im usually swearing and blowin up at the car :rofl:
