Bouncing Hilux
I have a 96 hilux single cab. It has the worst ride ever! I just had blue max leaf springs fitted and blue max shocks. This has taken the edge off the bounciness. But has not resolved it. No one i ask seems to give me a straight answer about how i can take out the bounce and make the hilux a nice ride
i would post a picture of the hilux but i am not sure how on this forum.
by the way hello i am a new member I am obsessed with my hilux.

Hey mate unfortently Hilux's are a hash ride even in std form what springs did you get heavy duty's or std and are they lifted. We just put surperior extended shackles on a mates and he reckons it's made the world of diffrence however cops and department of transport don't like them one bit he also runs 2in efs springs and shocks in his.
plenty of parts on the bench
longer springs with less leafs in them, that's how i got mine to ride nice.
Outers & Arms up stickers coming soon you hungry bitches!

Yeah Rears up front longer shackles long travel shocks and about 7psi on 35's and they ride nice but i don't think he wants to do that. maybe if you know how drop one or 2 of the shorter springs out of the front pack can do the rears to but it'll loose weight capacity also maybe try searching a few things in toyota sectionRoctoy Designfab wrote:longer springs with less leafs in them, that's how i got mine to ride nice.

Yeah I've seen alot of luxs with raised springs that have a near vertical shackle angle. This would cause the harsh ride (that coupled with the fact there is no weight in the back of these things unless loaded). So as Chris says longer springs should fix the shackle angle and give it a nicer ride and for those who dont carry much in the back - removing a couple of leaves should improve it heaps. Are your rear spring shackles vertical hilux_96?Roctoy Designfab wrote:longer springs with less leafs in them, that's how i got mine to ride nice.
Hey lads
I spoke with the guys who did the suspension upgrade. They recon i have done everything possible. (at least to keep away from the attentions of the department of transport.) The biggest problem, is the fact that i carry no weight in the tray and have hardly any weight in the front. (22r is a tiny fleas dick of an engine)
When christmas loonacy is over i am gonna put some rocks in the back (neighbour is a landscaper) and load up the tray.
FOr the front end i am thinking of an engine transplant.....
Any suggestions? or is this a new thread. I am thinking a GM 5.3L vortec Way more torq and higher kw.
Cheers
