i have 4.2 deisel with aftermarket turbo, it has been running fine but today it started overheating when travelling at aropund 100KM/h when i travel at around 60KM/h the temp comes down, slowly then remains at a normal level untill i reach higher speed then it climbs very fast. i have filled up the radiator and bled the system and the thermostat appears to be working properly. the fan is working fine.
Any ideas would be appreciated

have you ever removed the radiator and cleaned the fins out? Hosing them out with radiator still in car only gets about 1/3rd of it cleaned.
have you made any changes to system at all?
new themostat would be a start, how old are hoses?
have you ever had radiator block checked internally?
waterpump working ok?

I have had similar problems sounds like you have a blockage somewhere. Start wiith the cheap fix and then go from there. I would take you radiator out and give the fins and the inside a good clean as well and see if that works. Failinf that check your hoses, claps, viscouse hub etc, it sounds like a pretty simple fix.
You are on the money, I just replaced my bottom hose, it was as soft as buggery and expanding like a balloon under pressure, patrol was running up at 3/4 on a warm day. look for a hose with a spring in them , this is to stop it sucking in
Viscous couplings, are often an issue.
As is using a genuine Nissan Diesel Thermostat which opens at a lower temp than the aftermarket and other versions.
Hope you solve it. I bought a lemon with an overheating problem, and total cost has been around $20K by the time I semi-fixed mine (still gets to 75% if towing or long hill climbs.

When you guys are saying check it is soft, what is soft. I just checked my radiator hoses, and I could basically squeeze them till both sides touched. But the hoes don't feel like they are old and cracking etc......should they basically not be able to be squeezd in at all or just a little bit? I guess its hard to describe soft.

This goes for me as well, as I would say according to my dash gauge my car runs hot sometimes, but what exactly does that gauge represent? Is the gauge incrimental as in is the gauge showing the car running at 50% of the max temp when it is half way, or is it showing half way (so the punter is happy when he/she looks at it), but really that half way represents 75% of the max temp. Does that make any sense.
The reason I ask this is that unless you know what the gauge represents, how do you know what you need to be attcking to fix the cooling problem that you might not even have but the gauge says you might.
