window glass prob

Post by Puk »

Hi all,
I n searching i have found that what i have may be a Bailey channel (?) issue, but i need some advice.

My passenger window is RS.
I thought it was the mechanism, which i replaced with one from the wreckers, but the problem is still there. The rubber/felt channel AND the metal c-shaped channel it sits in are both swinging free inside the door (on the felt channel). Is that metal channel supposed to be attached to something? Is that why my window doesn't want to wind up? (I think it gets up a fair way and sticks because it isn't actually inside the channel at all!)

Any thoughts? Do i re-attach the metal dealy somehow? Open up the drivers door and compare? Get a new door? :? :?

Had the same problem on my drivers door, the C channel had broken off all together. would be hard to weld it back on as theres not much room.
I just had to grab the top of the glass and pull it back while winding.
or
Try getting other doors or put up with it.
