stock oil pressure guage- 80

Post by ash_on_mtb »

I'm getting a bit concerned about my oil pressure guage, can someone put my mind at rest?

Previously, the guage pretty well sat about the first mark, and rose to middle occasionally. From memory it really didn't fluctuate much.

After an oil change a few months ago, it moved a little more frequently.

After a tough boat pull for a few hours up and down a highway, it now would rise to the 2/3rds mark when cold or at highway speed.

With another oil change and filter yesterday, I"ve just had it idling (only for a few mins) and its stilling between the 2/3rd's mark and high... I'm sure it will drop down as everything warms up, but any ideas why the guage is now more active than ever?!

My gauge also sits high and the more you rev it the higher it goes almost hitting the top sometimes ...

Might pay to get someone with a test gauge to set it up and see if it's the sender or something on the piss or buy a after market gauge and that way you know what psi it's running at not just H or L
plenty of parts on the bench
