Hey guys, was wondering if you could post up or head me in the correct direction of 2" body and 2" sus lifts.
I want to put 30" under it, and not sure if it would look silly to have 2" body lift. Cheers

front fenders did rub a little. i can run 31"s easily, even with the longer flex. 32"s don't fit, but i may put in the 2" BL i have.
is it that you are not willing to pay for the extra for the ome? or is it that you don't know much about how the ome work? if you don't have much money, if often means you are after the least expensive way to lift your vit, and by doing so, you will opt to try and fit the gear yourself. now i don't see how buying a cheaper lift kit, putting it in, then realising its not all that, then getting another better lift kit, taking the old out and fitting in the new.

As for lift try get OME their kit is not massively overkill rides well and has good front shocks, SikId has been running a 31" with out to much trouble so if you had a 30" you would be fine Im sure. I would say stay clear of a body lift if you can. Spend the money on a good suspension lift instead. Alot more work involved in a Vitar body lift than most other 4bies

You have now talked me into it. Getting a custom kit made from local 4x4 shop. Its got OME, and other parts like kings etc. I do not no full specs. Do you think its worth getting a steering damper? They suggest it. And i think i will go 31" muddies, what type of fuel comparison is it after these mods, and power? And major losses or fuel consumption?

A good exhaust and extractors will help with the increase in tire size. Also think about getting a upgraded and heavy duty clutch as well soon after tires.... CV's well all in what you do and how hard you go. Locking the front diff doesn't seem to help them much either. You would also consider that your wheel bearings will wear alot quicker and need servicing more often if your going to get the offset needed for 31" tires.

ok. green one is parts, or wrecking. still got all the good bits, but body has too much rust.
as for CVs, i've been running 31"s on my vits for the past 4-5 years. yes, i do break CVs, but its quite entertaining when i do.
my green one went so much harder than my white one, even though my white one is EFI. my green one had just about everything replaced, very heavy duty clutch, welded front diff, and locker in the back diff.
my white one with 31" swampers was struggling a bit with the heavy tyres, and the clutch is almost gone, and ready for a new one.
my white one has 3" of lift over a stock vit, and a tiny bit of trimming got me running 31"s easily, and also coping with the added travel in the suspension.
wheel bearings......, well, you will be good at changing them with off set rims and 31"s. (on the front)
as for steering dampener, yes, they do help, and no, the vits do not have a provision for mounting a damper. either its custom made, or you buy the calmini truss kit. but yes, you can fit one. i'm in the process of trying to find a OME damper with the correct stroke length that will work with the vit steering. you don't want to just chuck any ol damper on, even if its an adjustable RTC one.
any muddies will decrease your range in kms, but the amount will vary depending on your driving. i used to get about 450km a tank with my white vit when it was stock, when down to about 300kms with 31" BFG all terrains, and now with the swampers, i would estimate 250kms a tank. also depends on what tyre pressures you plan to run.
stick with 30"s for now, and see how you go. stock vit rims are not off set enough, and you may get rubbing on the chassis with 30"s.

Are they any good? They will do that price fitted to my Vitara.
Has any one every played with speedo sender in gearbox? You can work out the size from standard rim and change the gears in the sender. I have played around with this in other cars but not these. May look into it.

and my speedo reads 5km under actual speed at 40km/h, and about 10km/h under when doing 80km/h. so its about 14 % or something and thats with 31"s tyres, and everything else is standard.Did you read what i wrote:

Have you taken ur vitara offroad heaps yet ? A few people i know have rushed into massive lifts and greatly oversized tyres only to realise that they don't need them.
You need to weigh up the overall lift with what it will do to your vehicle.
Is it just for trails, or do you drive it on the black top quite a bit?
Do you do highway driving ? (muddies make an awful amount of noise in a vitara and chew through the fuel)
I've got mine set up as more of a tourer but its got about 2" of lift (you shouldn't do more to the front end with out modifying every single component) Front and rear air lockers, snorkle, dual battery, roof basket bull bar driving lights. And its never been in a situation that it couldn't handle. Keep in mind that i don't just drive over beach rocks for the sake of it, like come on. Whats the point??

While on the topic, without trying to Hijack the thread, if I went with a 2" OME suspension, would that be those most I can go without risking CV damage? or can i run the 2" + my 15/30mm spacers I have now too?
I got the spacers as i was on a budget, but i am either selling the vitara or making it higher, i keep doing damage due to clearance, and i havent done anything difficult yet :( (235/75/15 BFG ATs are on it too)

Some people would rather cross over the rocks than dunk their 4by in 1.2m deep salt water..... Other wise we have 4WD's to go out and find challenges... A few more Vitara action shots, keep in mind they are a fairly capable 4by to start of with.... So as others have said look at what your going to be doing before all of theses mods because the more you do the harder it becomes to drive....

LWB Vit, Trail Slayer
I have been out a few times since i have owned it (1 week) And found it suffers from beeing to low. I am just sussing everything out at the moment, doing more driving and seeing what i need to make it more of an off road weapon. Does any one no if there is an LSD for these? It sucks in big bog holes, open difs are the biggest let down of it i can see yet.
